Members of Congress:

The undersigned supporters believe that making it easier for voters to cast their ballots benefits all Americans. In the United States, the right to vote is one of the most basic promises of our democracy. Protecting the right to vote is a constant endeavor that requires our nation to address any barriers that prevent eligible voters from casting a ballot.

Increased accessibility to the electoral process is integral to ensuring that every eligible voter can exercise their right to vote. While we have made progress in expanding voter access, many people still face challenges to participating in elections due to factors including income, health, age, race, disability, and gender. Voting is a fundamental right, and all Americans deserve an equal opportunity to make their voices heard in our democracy. We should seek to ease eligible voters’ ability to cast a ballot and have it counted — no matter which candidates a voter supports.
